This was shared with me yesterday and I wanted to pass it
along to those of you who are trying to walk with Him. It is found in Psalm 15.
1 LORD, who may abide in Your tabernacle?
Who may dwell in Your holy hill?
Who may dwell in Your holy hill?
He questions that
we must ask God if we desire to serve Him and know Him
2 He who walks uprightly,
And works righteousness,
And speaks the truth in his heart;
2 He who walks uprightly,
And works righteousness,
And speaks the truth in his heart;
To walk uprightly
we must have integrity without it we are worthless. Integrity is character who
are you when no one is watching but God. Do you live two lives do people around
you know what you believe? How the song goes, “you’ve got to stand for something
or you will fall for anything.”
Scripture teaches
out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. What is in your heart A
spring cannot bring forth both sweet and sour water. What is in your heart is
what people will see and hear. It will be the true you that they see and know.
3 He who does not backbite with his tongue,
Nor does evil to his neighbor,
Nor does he take up a reproach against his friend;
Can you control
your tongue or does it control you. Do you refrain from speaking everything
that comes to your mind or do you have regrets about what you just heard come
out of your mouth. We have enough of our own problems to deal with. We don’t
need to be using our mouths to add to others problems if what you are going to
say does not help the situation you are wiser to be quiet. Don’t be like Job’s
friends and have to beg mercy because of the unjust things they said about him
and God.
4 In whose eyes a vile person is despised,
But he honors those who fear the LORD;
He who swears to his own hurt and does not change;
Do you look upon
those who have turned from the Lord and give them honor or do you hold them in
low esteem. We should associate with those who are like minded. The pastor that
shared this used this old statement, “if you lie down with dogs you get up with
fleas.” Who you associate with is
partial how you will be known do not allow others influence to affect your name
and calling.
5 He who does not put out his money at usury,
Nor does he take a bribe against the innocent.
How does money affect
your life? Is it your god or do you control it? I know that is personal but I
will follow the teachings of wise men like Martin Luther and tell you, “ where
you put your purse are what are important to you.” If the gain of finances is
your desire and you will do anything to get them you are walking a path away from
God. He is able to provide all your needs and he wants to be the Only God in
your life. Be sure you are putting first things first as you serve the Lord.
5bHe who does these things shall never be moved.
5bHe who does these things shall never be moved.
A promise for you
and me we shall not be moved if we will follow these teachings. God has promised
to provide power for you and me to live a life of abundance full of His grace
and Mercy but first we must learn to walk with Him. That means every day and
every situation. I had not thought on it before but there is a difference between
with Him and in Him. With is constant in is only as needed which one are you
doing? Have a blessed day in the Lord may his mercy and grace be real to you
and all of those you meet.
