25 “I don’t know whether he is a sinner,” the man
replied. “But I know this: I was blind, and now I can see!”26 “But
what did he do?” they asked. “How did he heal you?”27 “Look!”
the man exclaimed. “I told you once. Didn’t you listen? Why do you want to hear
it again? Do you want to become his disciples, too?”28 Then
they cursed him and said, “You are his disciple, but we are disciples of Moses!
29 We know God spoke to Moses, but we don’t even know
where this man comes from.”30 “Why, that’s very strange!” the man replied. “He
healed my eyes, and yet you don’t know where he comes from? 31 We
know that God doesn’t listen to sinners, but he is ready to hear those who
worship him and do his will.32 Ever since the world began, no one has been able to
open the eyes of someone born blind.33 If this man were not from God,
he couldn’t have done it.”34 “You were born a total sinner!” they answered. “Are
you trying to teach us?” And they threw him out of the synagogue.
John 9:25-34 (NLT)
Is there someone that God answers
the prayers of before anyone else? I know that may strike you as odd but in the
testimony above we read something that might be a clue to the answer. Verse 31
states it clearly, “? 31 We know that God doesn’t listen to sinners, but he is
ready to hear those who worship him and do his will.” Now I am not saying God
does not here the prayers of those who repent and accept Jesus as there savior
were would that leave all of us. The Verse states that a sinner who is living
in sin who asks of God goes unheard. That is when intercession by believers is
required and provided that when God answers the sinner will be converted. The verse gives us the two types of people
who God hears from. The one who does God’s will and the worshipper you can be
both but in many cases today we are only one or the other. You can obey His
commandments and attend church every time the door is open and never actually
worship God. We need to understand our motivation for why we are there. The
person who troubles my spirit the most is the worshipper who fails to obey the commandments
and continues to live like hell away from church. You see God desires us to have
a repentant heart and to obey his commandments along with our worship. You see
Jesus left us instructions on how to live and the Holy Spirit guides us to the
understanding of what he desires for our lives. We need to understand the who,
what and why of worship and desire to do it because of who he is not because of
the entertainment it provides us for a few hours on Sunday morning. Have a Blessed day may God’s light shine on your
path today.
