Do you understand that in your salvation you were
given gifts? Not just Grace and mercy but spiritual gifts that are to be used
to edify the church and grow the kingdom of God. Often we see individuals in the
altar and they find salvation but they quickly fall by the way and fail to
mature in their personal walk with Jesus. Paul addressed that issue right in
the beginning of the letter to the Corinthians by reminding them that He was
thankful for the blessings and gifts they had received even if they were not.
4 I
give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God that was given
you in Christ Jesus, 5 that in every way you were enriched in him in all
speech and all knowledge— 6 even as the testimony about Christ was
confirmed among you— 7 so that you are not lacking in any spiritual gift, as
you wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ, 8 who will sustain
you to the end, guiltless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 1:4-8 (ESV)
Sometimes we need a reminder that God has blessed us
with His gift of Grace and in that gift he has also promised to sustain us
through each day and in every trail we might face. You see He has not only
given us grace but as we walk with him each day Paul tells us that we have been
enriched in speech and knowledge through our testimony that we now have about what
Jesus has done for us and what he will continue to do. Today I just want to remind you that we have
been saved through the power of the Holy Spirit in that salvation we have been strengthened
and gifted so that we will carry on till Christ’s return. In this we can find
comfort because He is always near to us that call upon His name and we have
promise after promise that he will not leave us nor forsake us. If you feel
today that God does not know or care where you are let me assure you he never
moved. We must make the conscious effort to abide with in Him if we want to
grow closer to Him. I want to borrow an example of what it means to abide from
James Merritt Founder of Impact Men’s Conferences. He explains that to abide is
like a teabag in a cup of water the longer the teabag remains in the water the
darker and stronger the tea becomes. That is what we need to understand about the
grace and peace found in a relationship with Jesus Christ it is only as strong
as the amount of time you spend in His presence. He has given us gifts and
provides us strength learning to trust in that means we must abide in His
presence. Have a blessed day as you walk in the light of God’s Word.
