Anointed in Unity

Good Morning and God Bless. It’s Sunday and I am looking forward to going to worship my heavenly Father today. As I was studying I was reading in the book of Psalms and found something that made me think about heart preparation for worship and spending time with my Savior and it might be something you have not given much thought to. It has to do with unity. You know I watched my son play soccer for 13 years and learned something from that experience. For a team to succeed they must play with one mind. They must know one another well enough that they are thinking ahead and acting on what they know must happen next. Scripture tells us in Psalm 133 something that we need to apply to our lives not only in church but every day. The scripture reads:

1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! 2 It is like the precious oil upon the head, That ran down upon the beard, Even Aaron's beard; That came down upon the skirt of his garments; 3 Like the dew of Hermon, That cometh down upon the mountains of Zion: For there Jehovah commanded the blessing, Even life for evermore.

Psalms 133:1-3 (ASV)

You see when Aaron was made High Priest by God; Moses was instructed to anoint him with oil, now they did not use just a little oil they poured oil over his head till it covered him all the way to between his toes. That is where the blessing of unity with in the body of believers comes in. It brings about an anointing that is an overwhelming soaking of the divine power of our Heavenly Father. There remains one issue that prevents us from receiving this blessing found in unity and Jesus expressed the problem and gave us instruction on our responsibility as Christians and it is found in Matthew 5:23-24 and He has instructed us with these words:

23 “So if you are presenting a sacrifice at the altar in the Temple and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you, 24 leave your sacrifice there at the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God.

Matt 5:23-24 (NLT)

Each day we must choose to live in unity and harmony; the choice like most is ours to make. Are you blessed today or are you walking under a curse because you have a point of unforgiveness in your heart. Just a warning you may be struggling in your own life because of that one decision not to mention the impact it has on the body of Christ. We must choose to live in unity with one another forgiving others with the same forgiveness we ourselves have received. Not that we deserved it; but because God loved us, even when we were living in transgression against Him. I pray you are blessed to day as you walk in the promises found in God’s Word. Be blessed as you walk in the Light.
