Prayer: Starting Right

Hosea 6:1-3 (NIV)

1 “Come, let us return to the LORD.
He has torn us to pieces
but he will heal us;
he has injured us
but he will bind up our wounds.
2 After two days he will revive us;
on the third day he will restore us,
that we may live in his presence.
3 Let us acknowledge the LORD;
let us press on to acknowledge him.
As surely as the sun rises,
he will appear;
he will come to us like the winter rains,
like the spring rains that water the earth.”

As we start our weekend I just want you to think about your relationship to God and all He has done for you. No matter what trial you may face He is there to restore you and pick you up. Each time we fail He is there to be our support but we must always be willing to return to Him. It would be better if we desired to walk with Him in everything we do but we are human and prone to corruption in the flesh as we try to achieve what the world calls success. But God is there for us as we repent of the sin in our lives. You ask what sin? Have you told a lie lately, have you desired something that another person has, has lust crept in to your heart. If any of these or any of a thousand other things we might do that do not measure up to God’s word we must ask for forgiveness and repent from them and ask Him to forgive us. He will do as the scripture says,

1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

When we fail to start here we are not able to receive the blessings of God so as you pray be sure to ask for forgiveness and repent from those sins that keep God from answering your prayers.
