Load Bearing

19 Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears us up; God is our salvation. Selah 20 Our God is a God of salvation, and to God, the Lord, belong deliverances from death.

Psalms 68:19-20 (ESV)

Are you carrying the load alone? I know that might not make much sense when you first read it but we need to understand this one simple thing. We were never meant to carry a lot of the stuff we carry in our lives without the help and sufficiency that is found in God. You see the verse tells us that He; the Lord, daily bears us up. That phrase caught my heart this morning and I want us to better understand what it means; “to bear someone up”.  Bear as a verb has many meanings but the one that is most common and what we need to understand about the way it is used here is it means, “to support the weight of (sustain)”. I liked this definition also though, “to move while holding up and supporting (something)” that is what God does in our life He not only sustains us for the future; he holds us up as we move through each day; He has blessed us with. Life is not easy and it is not fair; we can turn to one another for support but in the end we are mere human beings with sin as part of our nature we may fail to bear one another up in times of trouble. Yet when we learn to turn to God and allow Him to bear us up we will find salvation in Him. As a Christian we must be able and willing to go to Jesus and ask Him to BEAR US UP. He is able to carry it. Matter of fact He already has when He walked through Jerusalem carrying the cross. In that one day Jesus took every sin that you and I will ever commit and made payment for them. He carried our load and our penalty because He loved you and me. He could have called a multitude of angels to His side but He chose to bear us up in love. I pray today no matter what you might be facing that you will remember that Jesus loved you so much He bore the cross for you so that no matter what we face He has proven to us how much He loved us and that it is never more than He can carry. Have a truly blessed day as you walk in the light of His Word.
