Walking Near God

3 The Lord was with Jehoshaphat because he followed the example of his father’s early years and did not worship the images of Baal.4 He sought his father’s God and obeyed his commands instead of following the evil practices of the kingdom of Israel.5 So the Lord established Jehoshaphat’s control over the kingdom of Judah. All the people of Judah brought gifts to Jehoshaphat, so he became very wealthy and highly esteemed.6 He was deeply committed to the ways of the Lord. He removed the pagan shrines and Asherah poles from Judah.

2 Chronicles 17:3-6 (NLT)

When we tear down the idols in our lives and chose instead to live by the word and direction of God. He will bless all that we put our hand too. We will be able to stand against the enemy and bring honor to our God. This is what Jehoshaphat did as king over Israeli. It is what we can do if we chose to be obedient to God’s instruction learning to know Him through bible study, prayer and fasting are ways in which we can learn to obey the guiding of the Holy Spirit and learn more about what God has called us to do. It just requires that we take a stand and decide how much of our lives we want God to control. I can promise the more he controls the better your life will be in the end. Have a Blessed day as you walk in the light of God’s Word.
