Adulterous Living

1 Follow my advice, my son; always treasure my commands.2 Obey my commands and live! Guard my instructions as you guard your own eyes. 3 Tie them on your fingers as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart. 4 Love wisdom like a sister; make insight a beloved member of your family.5 Let them protect you from an affair with an immoral woman, from listening to the flattery of a promiscuous woman.

Proverb 7:1-5 (NLT)

I know that proverbs tell us time and time again to be aware that we need to look out for the immoral women or the adulterous women. We should allow wisdom to guide us so we will not fall into her clutches. On the face of it and word for word it is speaking of allowing a woman to come in and destroy all that you have to include you own life and the life of your family. Now that is good solid advice that each man needs to take and understands to prevent their marriage from being destroyed. The question is how it applies to the rest of those who are reading it that we might say is not worried about another woman leading them astray. Well what else comes into our lives that lead us away from what should be our first love Jesus. Do we seek wisdom in the way we handle our finances? How about our interactions with or families and those we work with? Are we giving into temptation and allowing things to be done and said that we know are wrong without taking a stand against it? You know the world is a temptress it contains the spirit of Jezebel within it and with that spirit it does all it can to draw us away from our relationship with God and His Son Jesus. As Solomon instructs his sons; I want to share that same advice, love wisdom and make insight a part of your life. Allow them to bring direction and understanding into your life as you walk in the light of God’s Word. Have a truly blessed day.
