Different than We Think

18 The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God.19 As the Scriptures say,
“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise and discard the intelligence of the intelligent.”
20 So where does this leave the philosophers, the scholars, and the world’s brilliant debaters? God has made the wisdom of this world look foolish.21 Since God in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never know him through human wisdom, he has used our foolish preaching to save those who believe.22 It is foolish to the Jews, who ask for signs from heaven. And it is foolish to the Greeks, who seek human wisdom.23 So when we preach that Christ was crucified, the Jews are offended and the Gentiles say it’s all nonsense.24 But to those called by God to salvation, both Jews and Gentiles, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.25 This foolish plan of God is wiser than the wisest of human plans, and God’s weakness is stronger than the greatest of human strength.

1 Corinthians 1:18-25 (NLT)

I love this scripture because it is so true and relevant to the world we live in today. With technology moving as fast as it is and the medical breakthroughs that seem to be happening all the time it is easy to think that science and knowledge are disproving God’s word at an alarming rate. Yet if we take the time to look at this issue we will find it does more and more to prove God’s word to be true and applicable for our lives. I heard Francis Chan recently speaking about the foolishness of the idea that we can understand the mind of God. You see understanding comes from our perspective. Depending on what you can see creates in you the understanding of what is going on. An example; What do you see?
If you cant see it it is in the title of the blog.

Is it an old lady or a shy young woman? You see in our lives we have limited visibility we have to base all of our understanding off of the information we are able to gather from our five senses. That information than becomes our understanding of what life is like. God’s vision see’s all of it though; the past, present and future. He has an understanding of life based on that. This makes his wisdom and why things happen different than what we can understand because all we can do is learn from the past and live in the present while hoping for the future. If we desire to see lie through His perception we must begin to draw closer to Him. To do this we must be in His word trusting in it to guide us through the Holy Spirit. Until we can see things in that light we will never really understand any of what He has called us to. Today lets change our vision let us start applying His word to our lives and walking in the light of it. Doing this we will become wise and leave the foolish ways of this world behind. Have a blessed day!
